The Trophy:

The winner of the inaugural Wine: Baptism of Fire will claim the original trophy created by Charlwood.

Having previously designed the Young Gun of Wine trophy, Charlwood was asked to create a unique trophy for the WINE: BAPTISM OF FIRE that represented the spirit of the competition.

Paul Charlwood, director of Charlwood design, "we love having the opportunity to create unique pieces for clients that are not afraid to push the boundaries and use unconventional materials/production processes."

The trophy integrates an engraved, polished stainless steel plaque that is embedded into layers of Perspex, laser cut in the style of the BOF pattern, representing the mystery of winemaking and the forces that come together.

The trophy is deliberately larger than life and designed to be a piece of art on the wall rather than another dull plaque.

Winners will be determined by the public, with the wines most popular with consumers.
Wines will be available through Vintage Cellars stores nationally in October, and the winner announced in November. The winning team also gets $3,000 to spend at Vintage Cellars
